I Want More Energy
No matter how much I sleep (if I get any) I still feel tired. I have to be conscious of what I choose to do, because my energy can be unpredictable and I have trouble doing as much as the average person. I have to pick and choose to spare my energy wisely for the day. If I just got an extra 30 minutes of sleep. Everything will be fixed after that! Does this describe you? If this were the case, more sleep would be the answer. But this isn’t the answer when you have an “invisible illness”.
Wait, you don’t look sick though!
If you have had someone tell you that you look fine and don’t look sick, you’ve had some other people in the past tell you the same thing before. Too bad most people don’t understand or can’t logically understand the idea of looking healthy, but actually feeling very sick on the inside. When you want to get out of bed, but you know you’ll be sick and ruin your day from pushing too hard and too fast.
Sometimes it can be annoying having to explain yourself to others which always seems to be like a broken record. Right? Maybe if more people took the time to understand versus judging, then they would seem more compassionate as you fight to conserve your energy all day before crashing and burning. I’m sure you know of The Spoon Theory by Christine Miserandino. If not, check out it out here.
Before you give up or become content with life being energy draining, there is always hope and the right person to help. You have the potential to have endless opportunity and possibilities as well. Your health does not have to get in the way of what you’re wanting to do and want to achieve. There are people out there who have been training their whole life to help people just like you. It could be me.
We know that you have learned to slow down, which was totally necessary to help you get by and survive. Now let’s focus on building you back up and getting you to a point where you don’t have to slow down as much, or even at all, especially if you are young.
