I Just Want to Sleep

Insomnia is said to affect up to 95% of people at some point in their life.

Some people may have a tough time falling asleep, while others may have a difficult time staying asleep. It is important for our body and mind to be able to shut off, heal and restore for the next day. The less rest that your body is able to get sets you up more for being in a continued state of fight or flight. Then your body throughout the day will be even more exhausted and it will still be difficult to be able to fall asleep and sleep soundly.

We see this commonly in people that live or work in high-stress environments, whether they be a small business owner, entrepreneur, or a business executive.

 

Commonly people will take melatonin to address their sleep issues with some results in the temporary.

Eventually, your body’s ability to make melatonin will shut off while you take a pill for it and it will also become less effective over time as the body will accommodate for it.

This merely takes a blindfolded approach to treating a symptom. You wouldn’t put a bandaid over your vehicle’s gas gage when it tells you that it is low on fuel right? Why do the same here with your health?

We have found that finding the underlying cause is the best method for correcting the issue versus trying to attempt a quick fix, which we all know never works in the long run. If the issue is severe enough then prescription medications are prescribed by a medical doctor such as Lunesta, which again is not correcting the problem, and then you get side effects from taking the medication. Before settling on the medication being your only route to helping you, consider a more natural route.

 

One way to see if your insomnia or sleep issues is to have your nervous system assessed and see if this is causing your sleep problems. Most are unaware that the nervous system are made up of your brain, spinal cord, and nerves, control and coordinate all life functions. So by looking at the body’s fusebox, we are able to determine what is causing the issue at hand. Versus changing out light bulbs in a dark room, we would go straight to the circuit breaker and flip the switch if needed. Now our body’s fuse box is housed and protected by the top two bones in the neck.

It is key that these two bones are aligned and moving properly to allow proper communication from the brain to the rest of the body via the brainstem. If clinically indicated we would take specific biomechanical x-rays to see if these top two bones are moving correctly or if they are the cause of your nervous system not functioning properly, leading to your sleep issues.
